Bad Bill Bob's Commentary on HB275
This bill answers a lot of questions. For years there has been a question as to
how important people are. If passed, this bill would allow government to shut down
water rights if fish experts decide they need more water. This is not too much different
than Klamath Falls (OR) and the protest of 2001. There, the issue was whether
government should shut off water and dry up the farmers and their food production. The
farmers lost.
The irony with this bill is that farmers (long time water right holders) already understand
the importance of water quality and fishery health. They know if the water is lacking and
back off their demands to protect the stream - WITHOUT GOVERNMENT REGS.
This is simply another attempt to strip farmers and ranchers from earning a living by
providing the rest of us with food.
This bill is unneeded, and is certainly a bad one. Dunk it.
